However, it is best to be in good shape to use the pass located between the Maurienne valleys in Savoie and Romanche in Isère.
Still, count on 28 km of climbing from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne with a height difference of 1,536 meters.
Once you reach the summit, you can admire the panoramic view of the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Pic de l'Etendard and the Vallée des Arves.
Don't worry, you can also reach the pass by road and park in the car park.
Several marked hiking trails are then indicated for walkers.
In winter, the pass is only accessible by snowshoes or ski touring, which makes it much less busy. You can also take a chairlift in Choseaux to get there.
