The Esseillon forts
Also known as the "Esseillon Barrier", this line of defence was built in the 19th century. Comprising 5 historic forts, 3 of them are now open to the public.

Not only can you enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding area, but you can also take part in a treasure hunt in Fort Victor-Emmanuel, where you can become a 19th-century French spy!

Le Fort du Télégraphe
Nestled at an altitude of 1,620 metres, this fort was once used as a strategic means of communication thanks to its network of optical telegraphs in the 19th century.

Open only on Wednesdays in July and August, the fort offers guided tours in period costume to take you back in time!
